Brighthelm’s new Trustee

This week we welcomed Cynthia Parks to Brighthelm as a new Trustee. Cynthia began life in the United States and came to study here in the 1960′s. After a time as Director of a London centre for American students, Cynthia experienced a call to the ministry which took her to various locations in the UK. For the last 10 years she has been the Minister at the nearby Dorset Gardens Methodist Church. We look forward to working with her at Brighthelm.

Pre- School news

We have exciting news on the expansion of the Pre-School. During April 2013 Brighthelm Pre-School is moving into the Roundhill room at Brighthelm. This move will enable us to offer increased sessions and spaces for more children. The new room will have all the current Pre-School equipment plus toilets for the children, a kitchen area, an office, parents meeting space, a small group activity and storage areas. We are all looking forward to the move and will keep you updated on the progress!

Street Diner comes to Brighthelm

Brighton & Hove Food Partnership

Brighton and Hove Food Partnership, the city’s leading food organisation has moved to our green hub at Brighthelm. They will be working closely with us to put us on the map as a recognised landmark for sustainability. The Partnership is ten years old this year and has nearly 3,000 members. As Vic Borril, Director of the Food Partnership, said ‘although the Food Partnership’s work spans the whole city, the move will help put food even more at the heart of things. We are the go-to place for community food work and our new location will help make our programmes and our work more visible and accessible.
