Drop In

Drop In has taken place at Brighthelm since the late 1980’s when many church people saw that there was little or nothing for some people to do on a Sunday in Brighton.

It’s open from 2-4 every Sunday and is staffed by volunteers.

Helpers usually arrive around 1.00pm with visitors coming in from 2.00-4.00pm. Brighthelm chefs, Simon and Alison, prepare the soup earlier, with sandwiches and drinks made as required. Team Leader Chris Cooke reports that ‘there are usually 30 -40 customers each week. Tea coffee and biscuits are available. It was especially nice one day in the New Year when Sean, a professional barber, offered free haircuts to the customers’. You can find out more from Chris’s Drop-In website
