Ever fancied your hand at making Latte or Cappuccinos? Our groupon experience will welcome you into the world of coffee making! Makes the perfect present for the coffee lover in your family. Click here for more information.
We offer volunteering opportunities in our marketing, gardening, housekeeping and cafe departments. We welcome enquiries from people looking to develop their skills in these areas.
Our volunteers get hands on experience with marketing, barista training and gardening as well as joining our social and friendly teams. Our gardening group for example meet every Thursday from 10am and keep our garden in great shape!
Brighthelm volunteering is built on the mantra that volunteering is a two way process, which means our volunteers often find they get just as much out of volunteering as the effort they put in. Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills, meet new people and try new things - all whilst contributing to our local community of Brighton and Hove.
For more information and to see if we have any volunteer vacancies, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01273 821512
Drop in is a very low cost café we support every first Sunday of the month at Brighthelm from 1.30pm to 3.30pm to give the most vulnerable Brighton residents something to eat very cheaply.
It is operated in partnership with City Gate Church, and volunteers are always welcome.
We are focussed on the topic of sustainability and seek to be a centre that stimulates discussion and action around our environmental impact. We work with our tenants and volunteers to hold events such as clothes swaps, environmental hustings and eco fairs to try and keep eco issues at the forefront. We act as a case study venue for the University of Brighton, students conduct access audits of our centre and present their findings. We also consider our faith based work to be integral to environmental issues, our Rev Alex leads many talks, sermons and prayer events focussing on faith in a changing climate. Our community ’Earth Church’ meets to discuss these issues. Keep up to date with Earth Church via our facebook page.
