Established in 1987, the Brighthelm Centre is a large popular venue and vibrant community centre in the heart of Brighton.

Pre-arrival information 

 

The Brighthelm Centre is centrally located and easy to reach by train, bus, car or on foot.

On arrival please report to reception.

 

On Foot:

Brighthelm is centrally located and just a few minutes’ walk from the station and a 5-minute walk from the beach.

 

By Bike:

We have plenty of bike racks in the garden where you can secure your bike.

 

By Taxi:

Please advise the driver that drop off/pick up is situated outside Afrori bookshop on North Road.

 

By train:

Brighton railway station is approximately a three-minute walk away along Queens Road.

Leave the station and walk straight down Queen’s Road towards the city centre. You will find us on the corner of Queen’s Road and North Road next to Afrori book shop.

 

By bus:

Several bus routes stop close to the Centre, including the 6, 7, 22, 27 and 48. The nearest stops are located on Queens Rd and at Brighton Station.

 

By car:

We have a limited number of parking spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Priority is given to Brighthelm Centre tenants and people attending activities or events at the Centre. We recommend using public transport wherever possible.

Our car park is managed by a third party company. All visitors to an event or meeting at Brighthelm are welcome to park for the duration of their event, all visitors must enter their registration on the tablet at the reception. This must be completed on every visit, or you will incur a charge. This applies 24/7. The tablet is on the wall by reception and can be accessed any time we are open.

If you require a disabled parking space, please contact Brighthelm on info@brighthelm.org.uk to reserve a space.

 

Additional information

 

The main entrance on North Rd, the gardens, ground floor and basement are fully wheelchair accessible.

 

All our communal areas and rooms available for hire are also wheelchair accessible, however, you might need assistance with our heavy fire doors.

 

If you are unable to use stairs, the Centre has a lift. We also have a hearing loop, a fully accessible toilet on ground floor, and baby changing facilities.

 

Quiet room / safe space available on request.
